Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the most important festivals for Muslims all over the globe. The day marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims observe fast from dusk to dawn. The month-long fasting, which is considered to be one the sternest one, ends on the eve of Eid after sighting the first crescent of the new moon.
On the day of Eid-Ul-Fitr, Muslims observe the special day with a prayer. Many delicacies are prepared at home to celebrate the joyous festivals with family and friends. Delicious meals are prepared which include biryani, haleem, nihari, kebabs and seviyan. Kids are also given Eidi from the elders of the family, which refers to money and/or gifts as a token of blessing.
