The City is pleased to announce it is planning to add new active transportation facilities to Bay and Kitchissippi Wards. Ottawa Community Housing has kindly agreed to permit construction of a new multiuse pathway (MUP) across its property at 445 Richmond Road, leading from the Golden Avenue/Richmond Road intersection to Dominion Street. The MUP will enhance access by foot and bike to Kichi Sibi LRT Station and create a new low-stress cycling route leading to the new cycling facilities along Scott Street (Crosstown Bikeway #2). The new cycling route will connect people living south and west of Westboro to the bikeway leading downtown. Stay tuned for an announcement in coming weeks of the opening of a project website on Ottawa.ca with details about the planned changes. My office will be hosting a virtual Open House at 6:30pm on May 31, 2023 with staff available to present the project, followed by a live Q & A session.
