On Saturday, December 3, OC Transpo and Loblaw will be joining forces for the 38th annual OC Transpo/Loblaws Christmas Food Drive in support of the Ottawa Food Bank. By adding a few extra items to your cart this weekend, you can help support this tradition of coming together and support members of our community who are in need.
This Saturday’s food drive will be held from 10 am to 5 pm at participating Loblaws – including the Loblaws at Carlingwood Mall, Real Canadian Superstore, Your Independent Grocer and No Frills stores across Ottawa. In addition to non-perishable food items, cash donations are also welcome, either through store cashiers or online at ottawafoodbank.ca/octranspo. For every dollar you give, the Ottawa Food Bank can deliver about $5 worth of food to the community.
In a normal year, the Ottawa Food Bank’s Michael Street warehouse distributes 14 tons of food every day. This provides over 100 member agencies with supplies to feed our neighbours in need, one-third of whom are children.
Last year, Ottawa residents really came together and helped raise $15,000 and 103,415 pounds of food. Let’s make the 2022 holiday season even better!
