National Health and Fitness Day is around the corner! Get moving on Saturday, June 1 by trying City recreational facilities and programs with your family or friends. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Check out the lineup of free activities including skating, swimming and drop-in activities for children and youth available through Play Free
- Get a “Try It” fitness pass which provides three free visits to participating facilities
- Play tennis or pickleball at an outdoor court
- Experience the beauty of wildlife and hike in Ottawa’s conservation areas
- Hike, bike, jog or run on the scenic Capital Pathway
- Grab your board or bike and head to one of the skateboard and BMX parks
If staying in is more your thing, you can take part in the complimentary virtual Zumba class at 9 am on Saturday, June 1. Register in advance on ACTIVENet – spots are limited.
