The Royal Canadian Air Force received approval of a fly-past to take place during the Battle of Britain event on Sunday, September 15th, 2024.
The fly-past will take place over the Beechwood Cemetery and will involve four vintage aircrafts.
➢ The Spitfire Mk.IX, Hawker Hurricane, and P51 Mustang will be in a holding pattern below 2000’ AGL East of Orleans.
➢ The Harvard will be holding below 2000’ AGL in Rockcliffe.
➢ The aircrafts will start their fly-past at approximately 1100 EDT heading from their holding positions to Beechwood Cemetery, conducting a fly-past no lower than 1000’ AGL above the cemetery at approximately1102 EDT traveling Southwest.
➢ The aircrafts will then be conducting a turn heading North, back to Gatineau.
The City of Ottawa supports the Canadian Forces Support Group (Ottawa-Gatineau) request to conduct a fly-past by Royal Canadian Air Force Aircrafts and acknowledges that the aircrafts will operate no lower than 500 feet above ground level in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
