What does Community Safety and Well-Being mean to you?
June 23, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The City is consulting with communities to develop a plan that will help us all work together toward a safe, healthy and vibrant community. To hear your views and ideas, the City and I are holding an online conversation to hear your views.
To give you some background on this the Province of Ontario has directed each municipality to develop this plan because they want everyone in Ontario’s communities to feel safe, have a sense of belonging, and be a place where individuals and families have access to education, health care, food, housing, and social connections.
What does Community Safety and Well-Being mean to you? Frankly, it means something different to everyone. We want to hear about what you love about Ottawa that makes you feel safe and gives you a sense of well-being? But we also want to hear about what needs to be improved. Are you concerned with being a victim of crime? Do you have enough opportunities for social interaction and physical activities? Do you worry about paying your bills or putting food on the table? Are mental health services or housing availability issues that you face?
