Perspectives of weapons-carrying among Ottawa youth: A discussion of the role of racism, systemic oppression, migration trauma in the age of social media
CPO and Muslim Family Services of Ottawa recently conducted research asking young people and frontline workers about for their perspectives on the weapons-carrying behaviour of youth in Ottawa, and why youth are choosing to carry weapons. MFSO’s final report includes significant findings on the role of racism, systemic oppression, and migration trauma in the marginalization and alienation of Ottawa youth. Join us for a panel discussion with staff, community members, and youth connected to Muslim Family Services of Ottawa and Regroupement Ethnoculturel des Parents Francophones de l’Ontario (REPFO). There will also be a Q&A time where panellists will answer questions from viewers.
