Night Work – NEP-Enbridge, Drilling Various Location

A noise exemption application has been submitted by Enbridge on behalf of the City of Ottawa LRT Phase 2 – for completion of work for gas main drilling activities across the 417 highway. This may impact both of your Wards so including both Offices as a result. (Aerial image attached below).

Source of Noise: Construction noise (i.e. drill, backhoe, hi-hoe, dump trucks, steel plates, welders, etc)

Where: Ashley St & Morrison Dr, to 417 Highway and Dumaurier Ave.  

When: May 16 – 20, 2022, from 10:00PM – 7:00AM

Rationale for exemption, from contractor: “This request is being done on an emergency basis only. The plan is for there to be no night work taking place. If the drill contractor is running into issues and the timeline is taking longer to complete the drill shot, we are requesting a week of noise exemption so that the drill contractor can have flexibility to work at night to stay on schedule. This work is being done for the City’s OLRT work and the cost of the job is 100% to the City so we are trying to keep everything on time and budget as much as we can.”
