Byron Avenue will be temporarily closed between Woodland and Harcourt

Please be advised that tomorrow morning beginning at 6:00 a.m. there will be a Byron Tunnel Concrete Pour specifically for the New Orchard Stations walls. Byron Avenue will be temporarily closed between Woodland and Harcourt for the duration of the concrete pour. Starting Saturday Feb 25th at 6:00 a.m. the concrete pump will arrive on site to be set and prepared for the operation, please note that there might be some noise associated with the machinery at that point.

The pour itself will involve approximately 15 concrete trucks and if there are no issues during the day, at 10:00 p.m. the concrete placement will be completed and the concrete pump will be turn off. Crews will remain onsite for approximately another hour troweling and preparing the heaters and tarps required to cure the concrete.

Pedestrians will continue to have access to the south sidewalk on Byron Avenue and cars will be detoured through the neighbourhood. There will be spotters onsite to help direct the concrete trucks to avoid residential streets. Residents will have access to their driveways unless previously advised by the contactor.
