Notice: Environmental remediation and sampling work is considered an essential service in Ontario (ref: Category 34 v. environmental rehabilitation, management and monitoring, spill clean up and response).
Recognizing all City parks and park amenities remain closed to our residents, the Environmental Remediation Unit is proceeding with monitoring and sampling programs where there is a reporting requirement to the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks, or where the monitoring programs have significant liability implications (e.g., monitoring landfill gas levels, testing private water wells, etc.).
Environmental remediation and sampling work in Bay Ward:
- Pinecrest Landfill/Dumaurier Park (2850 Dumaurier Ave) – Landfill gas monitoring
- McGee Farm Landfill/Byron Linear Tramway Park (285 Lincoln Heights Road) – Landfill gas monitoring
- 1180 Richmond – Ongoing contaminant management, including offsite implications
- 422 Edgeworth Avenue (residential property) – ongoing contaminant management and monitoring, offsite property
During this work, environmental consultants’ staff are taking special precautions and practicing all recommended social distancing measures to ensure the health and safety of their employees and to our residents.
