On Wednesday April 26, at the City Council meeting, the Ottawa Police Services Board welcomed the Ottawa City Council appointment of Dr. Gail Beck as the Public Member to the Board for the 2022-2026 Term of Council. Dr. Beck was also appointed the Chair of the Board at a special meeting of the Ottawa Police Services Board on Friday April 28.
I am pleased to see the addition of Dr Gail Beck to the Board. She is renowned for her work and knowledge on youth and mental health issues. This is a positive step forward for our Police Services board who urgently need to have expertise on handling mental health related calls.
