This year marks 20 years of the Ottawa Safety Council (OSC) providing the City of Ottawa with the Adult Crossing Guard program across the Nation’s Capital, which encompasses 262 intersections throughout Ottawa. Like many other employers, the global pandemic, resulting from COVID-19, has posed some significant challenges for our organization with respect to the recruitment and retention of our workforce. Our fleet of over 300 Crossing Guards are made up of dedicated community members who seek to serve the community.
Our Crossing Guards are currently deployed across the city. Here is our map of all the intersections where our guards are located, helping children and youths cross safety to and from school.
