Ottawa City By-law has provided the following most recent information on the protocol for condos:
With regards to COVID protocol for condominiums, currently in Ottawa all businesses, organizations, and individuals are obligated to comply with the Modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen (see News Release of the Office of the Premier dated January 3, 2022). Persons responsible for condominiums and rental units ought to align their practices and policies with respect to party rooms and indoor recreational areas accordingly. The regulation currently requires that subject to limited exceptions, indoor sport and recreational fitness facilities including gyms, be closed and social gathering limits are limited to five people indoors and 10 people outdoors in addition to adhering to capacity limits, physical distancing, and cleaning/disinfection requirements.
As this regulation has been put in place by the Province of Ontario, you may also wish to seek independent legal advice with respect to the applicability of the regulations to your specific context and/or contact the Province’s “stop the spread” line at 1-888-444-3659 that provides support to Ontario businesses who have questions or require clarification regarding the provincial regulations.
The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve very quickly. As such, Ottawa Public’s Health’s guidance is subject to change as new information is received.
