As the next step in the regional response to COVID-19, a new Care Clinic is now open in Ottawa’s west end. It’s operated by Queensway Carleton Hospital, in partnership with Ottawa Public Health and the region’s Clinical Care Coordination Centre (C4).
The clinic’s primary function is to provide treatment for people with symptoms of respiratory illness – cough, fever and cold-like symptoms – that can’t be managed at home. It’s located at the D. A. Moodie Intermediate school in Bells Corners and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. It is equipped to do basic diagnostic tests, such as chest X-rays and lab tests.
This clinic helps Ottawa-area patients get the care they need. It also serves to divert patient volumes from hospital Emergency Departments – helping to keep the Emergency Department for emergencies.
The site is operated by staff and physicians from Queensway Carleton Hospital, as well primary care physicians and pediatricians from our community.
Ottawa residents who only need to be tested should continue to go to the COVID-19 Assessment Centre, located in the Brewer Arena.
A second COVID-19 Care Clinic for Ottawa’s east end, operated by Hôpital Montfort, has already been set-up and will be opened as a further step in regional response when it is needed.
