Deserving Recognition
At City Council this past Wednesday the Mayor announced that Dr. Vera Etches and the staff at Ottawa Public Health will be given the Key to the City, the City’s highest and most prestigious honour to receive, in recognition for their leadership and support during the pandemic.
Over the past two years my office has worked closely with Dr. Etches and the OPH team helping us navigate through the ever-evolving environment COVID dropped upon us. They have provided us with support for residents and the answers to so many unprecedented questions.
Through this challenging time, they have shown great compassion, while fostering teamwork and cooperation, making every effort to promote empathy and compassion along the way. They have worked countless hours, often giving up their personal time, to ensure that the City is well informed and have access to the available resources needed. I am so proud of the work that they have done and their continued commitment to prioritizing the health of residents.
