The Great Outdoors!
Living in Ottawa means winter will happen so we might as well find ways to enjoy it.
We are fortunate to have great places in Bay Ward to explore and appreciate the scenery such as along the Ottawa River or walking along the many nearby greenbelt trails.
In addition, thanks to the work of many dedicated volunteers, we have the Britannia Winter Trail right here in our community where you can walk, snowshoe, or cross country ski from the Deschenes Lookout all the way west to Andrew Haydon Park.
Further west there is the Ottawa West Winter Trail that goes even further from Moodie Drive all the way to the edge of Kanata along the bike path.
This weekend the Rideau Canal Skateway is opening. There are also many community rinks to enjoy throughout Bay Ward and other parts of the City that are all in excellent condition thanks to dedicated community volunteers. To find a list of outdoor rinks visit the following link to the City’s web site.
Whether you go for a walk with a friend, a ski, or a skate, outdoors is a great place to be and to feel invigorated especially when we’ve been spending so much time indoors.
As always, please Be Social-Wise.ca while enjoying the outdoors. And dress warm, Environment Canada has issued a extreme cold warning for tonight and this weekend.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
