The City will receive $22.4 million from the Province over the next three years to maintain social housing in a state of good repair, keep it affordable for low-income families and support operational efficiencies. The Community and Protective Services Committee delegated authority to the Director of Housing Services to approve how the City will spend this funding, with two-thirds slated for repairs and retrofits, and a quarter for rent supplement subsidies.
