On Tuesday, November 10th, the Planning Committee approved Official Plan and zoning amendments to permit two residential towers just west of Bayshore Shopping Centre. A 30-storey and a 27-storey tower would add about 500 units to this residential community that abuts the Bayshore transit station and future LRT stop. As part of this project, the applicant has agreed to provide $150,000 towards a nearby park. They have also committed to keeping rent affordable in 45 of the units for 15 years, with rents not to exceed 30 per cent of the 30th income percentile for the City of Ottawa.
Recommendations from the Planning Committee meeting will rise to Council on Wednesday, November 25.
