Recently, CBC’s Nature of Things ran a feature called Wild Canadian Weather – Cold. The City of Ottawa’s Roads and Parking Team were selected to showcase the challenges and effectiveness of managing a Canadian winter.

The video highlights many aspects of the city’s winter operations – snow clearing, road and sidewalk plowing and snow removal. Residents can watch from the moment staff climb into the truck until the snow is deposited in one of the snow storage facilities. It is an opportunity for residents to get “up close” to the work City staff do each day.
