Message from the Director, Roads and Parking Services
This weekend, we are anticipating some mixed weather. Temperatures are going to fluctuate in such a way that we may see small amounts of snow, followed by heavy rain and back to a few cms of snow. As always, our Roads and Parking team will be ready to respond to keep our roads and sidewalks safe for residents.
This weekend, the weather forecast is calling for 20-25 mm of rain on Saturday. As such, we are asking residents to again take a look at their local catch basin / grate to ensure it is clear of leaves and debris. By clearing the basins now, and allowing the water to flow off the roads, we can prevent water from pooling, and potentially freezing as the temperatures drop.
This small step taken on Friday or Saturday will help us ensure our basins are in good shape for whatever Mother Nature sends our way next. If residents notice water is still pooling in their community Sunday evening, a service request can be created at Ottawa.ca.
