Construction work will be happening near Carling Avenue and Fairlawn. The contractor needs to go in and complete a Bell Manhole repair. They cannot plate the hole to open the lane during the morning peak hours so they will be closing the eastbound curb lane on Carling Avenue just west of Fairlawn.
The contractor will be starting the work February 26th and for a period of 4- 6 weeks maximum. Due to LRT, and capital projects coming in this year the City requires to get this work done quickly. Carling Avenue will have two eastbound left turn lanes, and one eastbound through lane. The south sidewalk on Carling Avenue will be closed during the duration of the construction. There will be no westbound lane reductions on Carling at any time. All the crosswalks at the signal will be open at the intersection at Carling and Fairlawn. All the bus stops will be maintained. And the following PVMS board will be installed in advance, and during the lane closure.
PVMS: facing eastbound traffic on Carling, west of Edgeworth.
