Many of you will recall the Pedestrian Safety Review that took place for Carling and Edgeworth.
Construction for this project is set to begin this week to reconfigure this intersection to improve pedestrian safety.
This project will consist of curb extensions on the southwest, southeast and northwest corners, realignment of pedestrian crosswalks, an upgraded westbound bus stop, modifications to concrete curbs, medians and sidewalks with general upgrades to meet AODA standards. In addition, the project will involve extensions of the existing west bound and eastbound left turn lanes, along with the removal of the eastbound right turn lane along Carling.
This project has been greatly anticipated and will be a very welcome improvement to the current design. I am very happy to see this finally coming to construction.
