Play Structure Background
A couple of years ago a play structure in Britannia Park was destroyed was damaged beyond repair by fire. The City will be replacing the Junior Play structure and play equipment – They will be consolidating the two junior structures south end of the park to the location closest to the beach .
The junior Little Tikes play structure was constructed in 1999 and is made primarily from metal and plastic panels. In August of 2020, the junior play structure located closest to the beach was damaged by fire. The play structure was lit on fire and damaged beyond repair and considered to be a total loss to the site. The junior play structures share a common sand pit with the senior structure. This site is a very popular site throughout the beach season and tends to be quite busy between June and September.
The south area junior play structure is to be demolished, disposed and the area be landscaped with grass or other landscape options.
