MESSAGE FROM HYDRO OTTAWA:
I would like to invite you to attend a community information session regarding Hydro Ottawa’s plans for a pole replacement project that will take place in the Britannia Bay area with work beginning in 2020.
Here are the details for the upcoming Open House:
Date: Wednesday, September 18, 2019
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Regina Street Public School, Gymnasium
2599 Regina St
We have posted information regarding the Open Houses on our website and we will send letters to the residents affected.
While this project is still months away, we wanted to provide you and your constituents with advance notice as some effort may be required to allow our crews access to the critical infrastructure located within our easements and on the City of Ottawa’s Road Right-of-Way.
More specifically, any smaller structures (such as sheds, decks, and walkways, as well as landscaping) located around the poles may require removal in advance in order to allow safe access for our crews. Hydro Ottawa will work with our customers to keep removals to a minimum. In most cases, Hydro Ottawa will be able to complete the work as planned so as to minimize any damage to customer property. An overall map showing the proposed work area will be available at the information session.
The majority of the work in 2020 will take place on Carling Ave. Traffic will be affected for the duration of the project, primarily during daytime hours. Hydro Ottawa will work with the city traffic group to ensure disruptions are kept to a minimum. Hydro Ottawa is committed to delivering safe, reliable, electricity service and keeping you informed of upgrades taking place in your community.
