A reminder to residents that the Britannia street mural painting is happening tomorrow morning ( Saturday June 11) at the intersection of Britannia and Howe. This mural is done annually as a part of the traffic calming measures that have been implemented in the area.
In order for the mural to be successfully completed and dry a street closure shall be in place restricting traffic to Howe Street between Zephyr Avenue and a point 50m east of Britannia Road. There will be barriers in place detouring traffic. From 9am-9pm OC Transpo buses are being diverted from their normal route on Howe to Violet Street. I stopped by Violet Street earlier on Friday afternoon and spoke with several residents to give them a heads up. Residents are welcome to stop by and check it out on Saturday starting from 10am. Our friends from Safer Roads Ottawa will be on hand to chat with and provide information on pedestrian and cycling safety.
