Councillor Rawlson King, the Council Liaison for the City’s Anti-Racism and Ethnocultural Relations Initiatives, in collaboration with the Mayor, will lead the recognition of Black History Month at the upcoming City Council meeting scheduled Wednesday February 7.
I am pleased to extend an invitation to residents to join us in the gallery of the Council chambers for this momentous occasion. The event will feature a formal welcome and opening remarks, along with a special performance of ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing.’ The recognition ceremony is scheduled to commence at the opening of the Council meeting at 10 am, preceding legislative proceedings.
Your participation is welcome as we come together to honor and appreciate the rich and diverse history of the Black community.
