Please join me for a virtual celebration, on Wednesday March 8 at 7pm, International Women’s Day in Bay Ward. Our event includes a special guest panel with Somerset Councillor Ariel Troster, the City Council Liaison for Women, Gender Equity and 2SLGBTQ+ Affairs and Reneé Amilcar, General Manager of the City of Ottawa’s Transit Services.
This year’s theme for IWD is #EmbraceEquity. Our panel group will discuss how they define embracing equity and what inspired them to become leaders. Participants will have an opportunity share stories and to ask questions of our panelists that are related to their journey of success and leadership as women.
The evening will be hosted by Sam Laprade from 1310 City News. Sam is a strong advocate for helping others and inspiring women. As the host of “An Hour to Give” on 1310 NEWS, Sam provides an outlet for local charities and not-for-profits to tell the stories and amazing work they do to change and save lives locally.
