Councillor Kavanagh hosted the developer and the City Planner for an information session on the proposal for 2740 Queensview Dr. This location will be the new home of the Granite Curling Club is building.
The application has been officially submitted to the City and the planner is taking comments even if it is past the comment due date.

Applicant’s Proposal
A Site Plan Control application to construct a two-storey recreational and athletic facility to house the Granite Curling Club of West Ottawa. A gross floor area of 1806 square metres and 76 surface level parking spaces are proposed.
Proposal Details
The subject site is located along the south side of Queensview Drive, north of Highway 417, and east of Pinecrest Road. Surrounding land uses include a church to the west, various light industrial uses to the north and east, and Highway 417 to the south. Desmaurier Park and Pinecrest Station can be found further west beyond Pinecrest Road, and low-rise residential uses can be found further north.
The applicant proposes to construct a two-storey recreational and athletic facility to house the Granite Curling Club of West Ottawa. The facility is proposed to have a gross floor area of 1806 square metres and a total of four curling pads. A total of 37 surface level parking spaces are proposed. Two vehicular accesses are proposed to be obtained via Queensview Drive.
