Message from Mayor Jim Watson:
Ottawa is proud to be the host city for the 2019 21U Women’s Invitational Baseball Championships taking place at RCGT Park (home of our Ottawa Champions) on Thursday, August 1 – Sunday August 4.
This is the first time Ottawa has hosted any all women’s national baseball championship and it was an honour to be able to support Baseball Canada and National Capital Girls Baseball in their bid to have Ottawa as host city.
Canada is currently ranked 2nd in the world for Women’s Baseball, and this tournament consists of some of the best baseball players from all over Canada. We have the pleasure of welcoming athletes from Team Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia!
The Opening Ceremonies will take place on Thursday, August 1 at 6:00 p.m. followed by the game between Ontario vs. Quebec starting that night at 7:00 p.m. Full details, including the schedule and ticket information can be found online by clicking here. Tickets are $10.00 per day, or $25.00 for a tournament pass.
This is sure to be an exciting championship and I hope you will join me in welcoming them to Ottawa by heading out for a game or two, or more!
