Spring has sprung! Birds are chirping. Flowers are beginning to peak through the soil, emerging from their winter slumber. Trees are starting to bud, and warmer days lie ahead. These are some of the positive things that I am focusing on as we head into the Easter Long weekend – usually a time for celebration and gatherings. However, with today’s Provincial announcement, the Ontario government is imposing a province-wide “emergency brake” starting Saturday at 12:01 am. Some of you may be looking at the new restrictions and think that there is nothing different about them or question why malls can be open and hair salons are not. Really what it comes down to is we all need to be mindful of how we spend our time and share our space.
None of this is new news to us. We have been here before. We know what we need to do and how to fight back against the virus. We need to continue to be COVID WISE and follow the public health guidelines. Vaccines also play an essential role and that is why our vaccination clinics will continue to operate through the Easter weekend to get shots in arms as soon as possible.
Wishing you a happy, safe and relaxing long weekend ahead.
